Arsenal to visit Prem new boys on opening day; tough double header follows

The Arsenal fixtures for the 2021-22 Premier League season have been revealed, with an away match against newly promoted Brentford kicking things off before they face two of the main title challengers.

The Gunners are hoping for a better season than 2020-21, in which they missed out on European football for the first time 1995. To put that right, it is essential to get off to a good start. And they will be hoping to do so after their fixtures were confirmed for the season.

Their first opponent will be Brentford, who will be making their debut in the Premier League. Arsenal travel across London on August 14th to kick things off at the Brentford Community Stadium.

A mouth-watering London derby with Chelsea will follow at the Emirates Stadium a week later. Then, they will face another tough challenge away at Manchester City.

As always, the fixtures that all eyes will be on are the north London derbies against Tottenham. The first one takes place at the Emirates Stadium on September 25th, before the return fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on January 15th.

There could also be fireworks when they face Manchester United, first meeting at Old Trafford on November 30th. They then welcome them to London on April 23rd.

Arsenal’s Boxing Day fixture is away to promoted side Norwich City, while they will host Man City on New Year’s Day.

The season will conclude with a home game against Mikel Arteta’s former club Everton on May 22nd.
