Aston Villa ace hints at next club, with sides swarming for his signature

Aston Villa’s Wesley Moraes is likely on the move in January, with four Brazilian sides queuing up for his signature – and the forward seems keen on one in particular.

Wesley has seemed likely to gain another loan move in January, since it emerged he was unhappy at Club Brugge. Indeed, he has only played 106 minutes on his loan return to Belgium.

Given Wesley returned to Brugge to find form, his dejection at not playing makes sense.

Indeed, it was recently revealed that four Brazilian sides were keen on taking the forward in on loan.

A further update has revealed that two of those sides, Sao Paulo and Internacional, have made official contact, per Sport Witness.

However, Wesley himself seems keen on Palmeiras. Despite the side finishing third in Brazilian Serie A this season, Wesley had high praise for them.

“Palmeiras today are the best team in America. A European structure of work, dispute titles and have a very quality squad. Every player wants to play at organised clubs, winners and with structure,” he said.

The Brazilian talisman also revealed his excitement at playing against Chelsea in the Club World Cup, should he join Palmeiras.

“It’d be really cool. And also a very big responsibility. Playing a Club World Cup for a team the size of Palmeiras is challenging,” he said.

Indeed, Wesley seems eager to join the Copa Libertadores champions. What’s more, if they were to approach Aston Villa for a loan, it would likely benefit all parties, and Wesley would certainly be happy.

Wesley among potential Villa moves

While Wesley will likely be departing the club on loan once more, Villa are looking to bring some players in during the January window.

Steven Gerrard has reportedly been given the green light to make his first signing in January.

Indeed, defensive midfield is a current problem position for Villa. Marvelous Nakamba will be absent for 3-4 months, so Villa will want to sign somebody to deputise in the position.

Furthermore, full-back cover would be useful for Gerrard. Indeed, an injury to either full-back, Matty Cash especially, would provide the side with a problem.
