Belgian with shades of Raheem Sterling a target for Everton in January

Everton are keen on Belgian winger Francis Amuzu, who has been likened to Raheem Sterling, in the January window, but face competition from Rangers.

Everton started the season in fine form, winning three out of their first six Premier League fixtures. However, they have been in a dire run of form of late, having won only one of their last 11.

That drop in form is partly a result of injuries in the squad. Important players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all missed games through injury.

However, the squad is also crying out for creativity. Indeed, the Toffees have scored just nine goals during that 11 game period.

Everton have, however, been linked with Anderlecht winger Amuzu, per HITC.

The 22-year-old has been likened to Manchester City winger, Sterling. As such, he looks to be just the kind of player Everton could use.

Amuzu has six goal involvements in 18 games in the Belgian top flight this season.

What’s more, the Belgian youngster has a release clause of just £3.6million. As such, a deal should be a simple one to get over the line.

However, Amuzu is also being tracked by Rangers, and is apparently a priority target for the Scottish side.

As such, a battle may ensue for the promising young talent’s signature.

Everton have also registered an interest in a young Championship talent, Brennan Johnson.

Johnson has nine goal involvements in the second tier this season. However, a move to the Premier League may be premature.

Indeed, the versatile midfielder is just 20 years old. As such, he may find it difficult to adapt to the step up at such a young age.

What’s more, his price tag is reportedly around £20million, which would be a lot of money for Everton to spend in their current situation.
