Chaos at West Brom as sporting director leaves amid new boss search
West Brom sporting director Luke Dowling has left the club to continue the uncertainty at The Hawthorns.
Managerless Albion have parted company with Dowling amid a chaotic search for a new boss.
Dowling joined Albion from Nottingham Forest in September 2018, where he had held the post of sporting director since February.
Prior to that he had spent four years in the same role at Watford.
“West Bromwich Albion Football Club and Sporting and Technical Director Luke Dowling have today parted company by mutual consent,” read a club statement.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Luke for his efforts during his three years at The Hawthorns.
“Chief Executive Xu Ke will later today release a statement regarding the ongoing search for a new head coach.”

Manager search
Albion have been looking for a new manager since Sam Allardyce left at the end of the season following relegation from the Premier League.
Former Huddersfield boss David Wagner was expected to take over at The Hawthorns.
But Wagner decided to turn down Albion and instead was announced as the new boss of Young Boys in Switzerland last Thursday. Wagner, 49, wanted to remain close to his family in Germany, according to a report by Sky Sports.
Albion had turned to Wagner after a move for Wilder was blocked by owner Guochuan Lai vetoed.
Wagner had been without a club since leaving Schalke last September, having guided them to 12th in 2019-20 in the Bundesliga after joining in May 2019.
But Albion are now left to look again with Lincoln boss Michael Appleton and ex-Aberdeen chief Derek McInnes – both former players – possible options.
