Chelsea, Man Utd sit up as report claims sensation ‘dreaming’ of Prem

A report in Germany claims Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is desperate to move to the Premier League, putting Premier League clubs on red alert.

The 21-year-old is one of the hottest properties in European football after a sensational couple of seasons with the German outfit. Having scored goals for fun at RB Salzburg, the Norway international has continued to find the net at BVB. He had bagged an incredible 60 goals from as many outings in all competitions, with 40 from 43 Bundesliga appearances.

Those numbers were always going to attract some of the game’s biggest hitters and many have shown an interest. Chelsea have been mentioned in connection with the youngster all summer while Manchester United are also said to be keen.

Manchester City were linked but the big-money purchase of Jack Grealish has probably ended their hopes, for now. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have seemingly thrown their hat into the ring.

Although CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently suggested that the Bavarians had no need to sign the Scandinavian.

“I don’t know where the rumours come from,” he told Bild. “I can only say one thing: we have the world leading footballer in this position. Robert Lewandowski has a contract until 2023.”

However, rumours surfaced at the start of the week that they were considering a swoop. Nothing has happened to date although the window is still open until the end of August.

It seems likely that Haaland will remain with Dortmund for another campaign. But Sky Germany reporter Jesco von Eichmann (via The Daily Star) claims the Norwegian is ‘dreaming’ of a Premier League move.

Chelsea have all-but ruled themselves out of the running this summer after signing Romelu Lukaku for £97.5m.

Man Utd / Liverpool last two standing for Haaland

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already spent big on the signing of England ace Jadon Sancho this summer. But Jurgen Klopp has only improved his defensive ranks with the capture of Ibrahima Konate.

The German chief did recently hint at another signing but he was in a feisty mood at Friday’s press conference. It may be that the Reds go with what they have until at least January.

Next summer will be a different matter for all interested parties as Haaland’s £75million release clause is activated. It will then be every man for himself as the various clubs try all they can to land the exciting starlet.

Bayern will be an option but Chelsea and co will be going all out to make his ‘dream’ come true.
