Euro Paper Talk: Conte requests €25m striker as first Tottenham signing; Chelsea make world class star top target

Antonio Conte has identified the striker he wants to sign if he takes charge at Tottenham, while Chelsea have shifted their focus after their chances of signing Romelu Lukaku took a hit – all in Thursday’s Euro transfer gossip.

CONTE WANTS BELOTTI AT TOTTENHAM

Tottenham could look to make Andrea Belotti one of their first signings under Antonio Conte if the Italian takes charge.

Conte appears to be the favourite to become the next Tottenham head coach after recently leaving Inter Milan. He led the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title, but their financial situation prompted his departure.

The former Chelsea boss might not be out of work too long, as he has been tipped to return to London with Tottenham.

Conte has fond memories of working in the capital, having led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017. He could now move to one of their rivals – and look to bring a Blues striker target with him.

According to Tuttosport, Conte wants to sign Belotti for Tottenham. The Torino striker is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and now could be the time for him to leave.

He was linked with Chelsea back in April, as the Blues are looking for a more reliable striker. But Tottenham have also held an interest in the past and that would only increase with the appointment of Conte.

Belotti to replace Kane?

The Italian wants his compatriot to join Spurs, who are bracing themselves for the potential departure of Harry Kane. They would rather keep their centre-forward, but are drawing up plans in case he needs to be replaced.

Even if he stays, they could need another striker, as backup option Carlos Vinicius was only on loan.

Belotti would likely prefer to be a first-choice wherever he goes, so it may depend on Kane’s future. But Conte could be a convincing factor to lure the 27-year-old to London.

Torino want a fee of €25m for the striker, who also could have offers to stay in Serie A with Roma, Milan and Atalanta.
