Euro Paper Talk: European giants given contract jolt as Man Utd, Tottenham lurk for star signing; Tuchel eyes Spurs steal

Man Utd and Tottenham are keeping tabs on a Serie A star facing burning uncertainty over his future, while Chelsea eye a Spurs transfer target – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

MAN UTD, TOTTENHAM EYE BROZOVIC TRANSFER

Manchester United still have background interest in Marcelo Brozovic amid the uncertainty over the Inter midfielder’s future, according to a report.

The 66-time Croatia international has made 250 outings for his club, subsequently acting as the bedrock of the midfield. Indeed, current boss Simone Inzaghi and his predecessors Antonio Conte and Luciano Spalletti have all counted on him.

Brozovic has continued his key role this term, featuring in all six Serie A outings for the Italian top flight champions.

However, the 28-year-old’s contract runs out next summer and he has yet to commit to a new deal. As such, he will enter free agency next summer and could even walk away in January if he does not extend by then.

Earlier reports claimed that Liverpool had been brewing a contract offer for him. Tottenham, led by former Juventus transfer chief Fabio Paratici, also have interest.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), though, Man Utd evaluated his signing last summer before postponing the idea.

The Red Devils and Tottenham have nevertheless kept their interest. Inter, therefore, want Brozovic’s extension ‘as soon as possible’.

The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain were in a ‘long dialogue’ over a potential swap deal with Inter involving Leandro Paredes.

As a result, Brozovic’s renewal is not just a priority for Inter and their success, but because of the interest in him.
