EXCLUSIVE: Brentford ready to tie down talismanic figure to new deal

Brentford are ready to open talks over a new deal for Thomas Frank after an excellent start to life in the Premier League, we understand.

The Bees have little doubt that the Danish coach is the man to take them forward. To that end, they are ready to secure his future. The 47-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest young managers in Europe, and Brentford intend to keep him at the club.

Frank has been linked as a possible successor to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. The Gunners boss was the early-season favourite to be the first Premier League manager to be sacked, before his side found some form.

Frank has less than two years left on his current deal in West London.

Bees boss happy with London life

However, he is understood to be more than happy with life in the capital. As such, Brentford are hopeful a new deal will be agreed by the turn of the year.

The Dane arrived at Brentford as assistant to head coach Dean Smith in 2016. He was promoted to the top job in 2018, after Smith’s departure to Aston Villa.

The Bees are next in action on Sunday when they head to West Ham in the Premier League.

Frank’s men are currently ninth in the table after only one loss in their first six games.
