His appointment has yet to be announced, but it would appear that Fabio Paratici is already looking to make his mark on Tottenham, with two more Juventus stars on his radar.
The Italian is close to being appointed as the club’s next sporting director, having agreed to quit Juve after 11 years in Turin. During his time there, Paratici played a major role in the club’s return to becoming the dominant force in Serie A.
A report on Monday stated that the 48-year-old could play a part in Tottenham finally sealing a deal for long-term target Paulo Dybala.
And now Calcio reports that veteran centre-back Leonardo Bonucci could head to the Premier League.
News of that potential deal first broke on Saturday, although at 34 years of age it does appear unlikely. Signing players that old is not a route Daniel Levy normally likes to take.
The second link does make more sense, however, with versatile midfielder Dejan Kulusevski also tipped to join.
The Sweden star, who can also play as a winger, was outstanding for Juve last season. He notched seven goals in 47 appearances for the Turin outfit and has also been linked with Manchester United.
The 21-year-old will be in the shop window when he features for his country at the upcoming Euros. And the report states that while Juve would be open to discussions over both players, getting deals over the line could be more troublesome.
Levy wants straight cash for Kane
Meanwhile, Daniel Levy is not interested in entertaining offers that include makeweights for Harry Kane, according to a report.
Kane’s future is the hot topic once again after his ambition to leave Tottenham emerged. He has been a fine servant to the club but is now looking to win trophies elsewhere. Levy does not want to sell the star striker, but will have to listen to numerous offers from interested clubs.
The England captain would seemingly prefer to stay in the Premier League, where Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United could all try to sign him.
But knowing his price tag is high, those suitors could try to sweeten any deal by offering players in return. For example, there was talk of City trying to send Gabriel Jesus or Raheem Sterling in the opposite direction.
Those rumours came from The Sun, who are now suggesting that Levy has little interest in doing a deal on those terms.
While he remains intent on keeping Kane, he would rather sell him for cash only. He wants a fee in the region of £150m.
And even though Jesus and Sterling are good players, their wage demands may be out of Spurs’ structure. Besides, Levy would prefer to have the funds for Tottenham to pursue their own choice of targets.
He still has some concerns about how they reinvested the then-record sum they received for Gareth Bale in 2013. Therefore, if they do buckle and sell Kane, they will be keen to make sure they get the players they really want.
