Fresh hope for Arsenal, Tottenham as midfield target told he can leave German giants

Former Arsenal and Tottenham target Marcel Sabitzer will be allowed to leave Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports.

Sabitzer has struggled to live up to the hype since he joined Bayern Munich at the start of the season. The 28-year-old has made just six league starts, and has only been trusted once in the Champions League. Now, Julian Nagelsmann is willing to let the star go, in order to make room for new signings this summer.

According to Sport1, Sabitzer will be made available for just £12m as they look to get him off the wage bill.

The Austrian international initially joined Bayern for just £14m, meaning the German club would not be losing too much in the sale.

However, his poor form may mean the club will struggle to get such a return on their investment.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked to the midfielder in the past.

Accoring to the Daily Express, both clubs were hopeful of landing the star before his switch to Bayern Munich.

However, his poor season so far may mean that interest is no longer there.

Nagelsmann hopeful of Marcel Sabitzer surge

Despite reports that Bayern are willing to allow Marcel Sabitzer to leave the club, Nagelsmann still believes he can find a surge of form.

Nagelsmann managed Sabitzer during his RB Leipzig spell, and has witnessed the Austrian at the peak of his career.

And now, Sabitzer may be turning a corner as he opened his scoring account for the season at the start of this month.

The former Leipzig man got his name on the score sheet in a 4-1 win over SC Freiburg inside the Bundesliga.

Now, Nagelsmann is hopeful this landmark may help the player build in confidence, and find form once again.

He said: “The goal was incredibly important for him. I’m extremely happy for him.

“Above all, I wish for him that he finds his peak here, because this is also a dream club for him. And I hope that he’ll get even better on track with the goal,”
