Juventus willing to trade prized starlet to usurp Manchester United in race for Serie A magician

Juventus are desperate to beat Manchester United to the signature of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and will even offer an exciting talent to Lazio, according to sources.

Last week, reports revealed the Red Devils to be ‘serious’ about Milinkovic-Savic. The central midfielder has been one of Lazio’s best performers this season, notching nine goals and 10 assists in 32 Serie A outings.

As such, Manchester United officials came up with a £59million offer to win the transfer pursuit. They know they have to be quick amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Another update on Milinkovic-Savic’s future came about on Monday. According to Italian source il Corriere dello Sport, United have held talks with his agent, Mateja Kezman.

Lazio apparently want £66m for the Serbia international, but the Manchester outfit are willing to pay this. And the potential signing even has the green light from incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

However, United are facing increased competition for the statement capture. Goal, who cite new reports in Italy, claim Juventus are part of the hunt.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic may form part of swap deal

And they are even willing to throw in 21-year-old starlet Nicolo Fagioli as part of a swap deal with Lazio.

The central midfielder, currently on loan at Cremonese, is highly rated in Turin.

His top-class displays in Italy’s second tier have alerted Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri. The former Chelsea coach has reportedly told his scouts to keep an eye on Fagioli’s development.

Due to this, Juve will offer Lazio the young playmaker, as well as a significant amount of money, to land Milinkovic-Savic.

It remains to be seen whether this bid will usurp United from pole position, although it is certainly an interesting proposal.

United need a new midfielder this summer as Paul Pogba appears set to move on. As per recent claims, he is a ‘priority target’ for PSG.

And veteran team-mate Nemanja Matic will almost certainly leave Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

Atletico Madrid sense the opportunity for a clever signing and are offering him a route out of the Premier League.
