Leicester looking to upset Arsenal, Liverpool by signing in-form midfielder

Leciester are lining up Brighton’s Liverpool and Arsenal-linked midfielder Yves Bissouma as a possible replacement for Wilfried Ndidi if he leaves this summer, according to reports.

Joining the Foxes from Genk in 2017, Ndidi has proven to be a perfect replacement for N’Golo Kante since the Frenchman’s move to Chelsea and has rightfully attracted a number of potential suitors. As a result, Brendan Rodgers has identified Bissouma as a top transfer target should he leave the club, according to GFFN.

The Malian has enjoyed a successful stint in the south coast so far, featuring 36 times for the Seagulls in the most recent Premier League season, scoring one goal.

His diverse passing range, explosive dribbling and competency in both attack and defence have made him a firm fan favourite at the Amex in recent months.

Rodgers isn’t the only Premier League manager closely monitoring Bissouma however, as Leicester prepare to face stiff competition for the 24-year-old’s signature.

One club that have reportedly expressed interest in the midfielder is Liverpool, with manager Jurgen Klopp keen to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

The club are understood to have scouted the Brighton man, but have made no formal bid as of yet.

Another possible destination for Bissouma this summer could be the Emirates Stadium, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his midfield in a crucial transfer window for the Gunners.

The move could also see Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah head to the Amex, with Graham Potter keen to sign the England Under-21 international.

Brighton are prepared to do all they can to keep the midfielder, but have a number of targets lined up should they lose their key players this summer.

One player that has greatly impressed Potter is Dutch midfielder Abdou Harroui, who has enjoyed a great campaign for Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredevisie.

The Seagulls face a battle with Leeds United for the 23-year-old, however, with Marcelo Bielsa also interested in signing the Dutch international.

Another player who may move to the Amex this summer is Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard.

With the Frenchman’s contract soon set to expire with the Glasgow outfit, the club may sell him for £15million, with Arsenal and Leicester also vying for his signature.
