Man Utd loan star reveals Solskjaer advice as transfer talks set in motion

On-loan Lazio midfielder Andreas Pereira says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants talks over his future at Manchester United.

The Brazilian midfielder left Old Trafford last Autumn on a season-long spell after falling down the pecking order. Furthermore, Donny van de Beek’s arrival meant that he faced an even tougher fight for game time. As such, he moved to Italy and has played a key role, featuring in 23 Serie A matches.

Nevertheless, the time will soon come for the 25-year-old to decide on his next move alongside his agent, Lazio and his parent club.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Pereira insisted that he has enjoyed his time in Rome and could seek a permanent deal.

But initial attempts to speak to United boss Solskjaer over his future have proved difficult.

“Lazio have the option to buy me back from Manchester United, so it all depends on the Biancocelesti,” he said.

“I know my skills have been appreciated this season and they have until the end of the season to make a decision.

“Rome is a wonderful city and I wouldn’t mind staying there. If they don’t keep me, I’ll have to talk to Manchester United to see what’s best for the club and for me.

“I’ve spoken to Solskjaer to find out my future and he said we need to talk. I just want to play because I am still hoping for a call-up from Brazil for the World Cup in Qatar.”

Reports (via the Metro) claim that Lazio will have to pay €25million (£21million) to keep Pereira at the club.

Pereira weighing up transfer options

Right now, that seems a better option amid the battle for game time in United’s midfield.

Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Fred and Scott McTominay have all nailed down regular game time. However, summer signing Van de Beek has yet to establish himself.

As such, Pereira could end up facing a similar struggle for game time if he returns to Old Trafford.
