Paper Talk: Fear spreads at Man Utd that key star stalling talks to attract PSG, Poch interest; Chelsea man has exit plan

Manchester United have a growing transfer fear about a key star, while a Chelsea man steps up his efforts to leave the club – both in all the latest Paper Talk.

MAN UTD, POGBA TRANSFER FEAR

Manchester United fear that Paul Pogba is delaying contract talks in a bid to tempt other big clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain to the bidding table, a report claims.

The French midfielder goes into Euro 2020 having enjoyed arguably his best season in a United shirt since rejoining in 2016.

He scored several crucial goals, including the winner over AC Milan in the Europa League last 16. Meanwhile, he assisted four goals in his final seven Premier League appearances.

But the question of Pogba’s future plans remains unanswered. The 28-year-old only has one year left on his contract and so this summer presents the last chance for the Red Devils to sell him for a fee.

ESPN reports that while United ‘have not given up’ tying him down, there are fears at the club that he is stalling on talks in a bid to attract interest from elsewhere.

Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino‘s Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus could all show interest.

It remains doubtful that the latter three clubs would be able to afford Pogba’s transfer this summer. However, should he become a potential free transfer, all four would relish the opportunity.

Pogba will be free to talk to overseas clubs from January onwards and talks are only set to begin after Euro 2020, with France the favourites to win the final on July 11.

Those contract talks with United will centre around Pogba‘s role in bridging the gap between the Old Trafford club and Manchester City and the hunt for European silverware.
