Paper Talk: Glazers out to build bridges with double £168m Man Utd raid; Poch makes Tottenham star No 1 transfer aim

Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, hope an astonishing £168m double deal will supress fan frustration, while Wednesday’s transfer gossip has news of a Mauricio Pochettino raid on Tottenham and Leeds United links to a Holland U21 winger.

KANE, SANCHO SUBJECT OF MAN UTD APPROACHES

Under-pressure Manchester United owners the Glazer family are ready to sanction a huge summer of spending in an attempt to quash fan fury.

Tensions between United fans and their owners, the Glazers, has rarely been higher. The club are badly in debt and efforts to join the failed European Super League went down like a cup of cold sick.

Indeed, Avram Glazer did not do himself any favours when asked to apologise to disgruntled fans.

However, The Sun claims they want to build some bridges with supporters by sanctioning a £90m bid for Harry Kane.

The striker is at something of a career crossroads this summer and could force a move from Tottenham.

The England captain is frustrated by Tottenham’s ongoing trophy failures. But even if he pushes for a move, £90m may not be enough. Still, The Sun claims they will test the waters by lodging an opening bid.

The Glazers won’t stop with just Kane either.

As per the Daily Express, United will also move again for Jadon Sancho when the transfer window reopens.

Reports suggest that Dortmund’s asking price for the England winger has dropped. While they were seeking £107m last summer, he now looks set to leave for just £78m.

That has sparked United’s interest once again, though it seems they will have to now battle Chelsea.

Whether the reported £168m double swoop also appeases supporters remains to be seen. However, some observers believe the capture of Kane could steer United towards title glory.
