Paper Talk: Paratici green lights move as Tottenham chase speedy Bundesliga centre-back; Arsenal on brink of big deal

Tottenham are chasing a centre-back who was clocked as the fourth-fastest player in the Bundesliga last season, while Thursday’s transfer gossip claims that Arsenal are on the brink of sealing a big-money signing.

TOTTENHAM WANT £25M BUNDESLIGA DEFENDER

Spurs have reportedly set their sights on signing speedy Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix and Fabio Paratici is said to have backed the signing.

The 21-year-old Frenchman flourished last season in the Bundesliga and played a key role as Wolfsburg secured a top-four finish.

Lacroix only arrived at Wolfsburg last August from Sochaux. However, it’s not taken him long to make a major impact at the Volkswagen Arena.

Now his current club are poised to make huge profit on their young defender, who is already interesting RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga runners-up are chasing Lacroix after losing Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate to Bayern Munich and Liverpool respectively.

However, they are not the only team in the running for his signature.

Sky Germany have previously stated that Chelsea are ready to make a move but now Spurs have entered the fray.

Paratici a fan of Lacroix

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims Paratici, who he interviewed earlier this week, wants to sign Lacroix.

The player is likely to cost around £25million, although Wolfsburg do not want to sell.

At 6ft 3in tall, Lacroix was also clocked as the fourth-fastest player in the entire Bundesliga last season. He fell behind Jeremiah St Juste, Erling Haaland and Alphonso Davies only.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are also trying to wrap up a deal for Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Sevilla’s Kounde also remains a top target, although the LaLiga star could cost as much as £50m.
