Paper Talk: Tuchel to raid PSG again for final piece of Chelsea jigsaw; Arsenal to sell first-team trio this summer

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants to bring another PSG defensive stalwart to Stamford Bridge this summer, while Thursday’s transfer gossip also states that a trio of Arsenal stars will be sold.

TUCHEL TARGETS ANOTHER PSG RAID

Thomas Tuchel could be reunited with Brazil centre-back Marquinhos if the German boss has his way this summer.

The PSG skipper is said to be one of several high-profile names on the Chelsea boss’ wishlist this summer, as Tuchel looks to strengthen an already loaded Blues squad.

The defender was one of few PSG players who actually impressed in the Champions League semi-final loss to Manchester City. He showed  his danger from set-pieces by scoring in the first leg and hitting the bar in the second.

The Sunday World states that Tuchel’s arrival has spurred Roman Abramovich into another transfer splurge.

The Blues have already been linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku this summer. But the Daily Star claims that Marquinhos has emerged as the surprise addition to the Blues’ boss’ list.

The Brazil vice-captain played under Tuchel for two years in Paris, where they won four major trophies and reached a Champions League final together.

Tuchel was sacked as head coach back in December, however just a month later he was back in a job with Chelsea.

The report states that he now wants to raid his old club for the 26-year-old.

PSG failure could prompt exit

Marquinhos has been an ever-present at the Parc de Princes since he signed for £27m from Roma in 2013, reaching 300 appearances for the club in January. However, PSG missing out on European silverware yet again may prompt him to move on.

The defender’s potential arrival would see him reunite with his national team skipper Thiago Silva.

Chelsea do already have a number of centre-backs on their books, with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christiansen, Kurt Zouma and Cesar Azpilicueta all joining Thiago Silva in having played regularly this season. Fikayo Tomori has also impressed on loan at AC Milan, who are keen on a permanent deal for the Blues star.
