Paratici and Tottenham take tentative first step in deal for Kane replacement

Tottenham have been paving the way for a move for Dusan Vlahovic after contacting the strikers agent over a potential transfer, claims a report.

The Spurs evolution is in full swing with Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici shaping their squad for this season.

Defender Cristian Romero officially arrived on Friday night. While Atalanta team-mate Pierluigi Gollini and Sevilla winger Bryan Gil have also signed for the club.

Harry Kane’s future though remains the talking point after Pep Guardiola confirmed Man City’ interest.

Guardiola though was quick to say that Spurs were not willing to negotiate over a move for Kane, despite the England man pushing for a move.

Daniel Levy and Spurs for their part, have all along refused to entertain Kane’s sale. However, they are exploring alternatives should their talisman force a move to The Etihad.

And Italian daily Corriere Dello Sport via Sport Witness report that Tottenham have ‘been talking’ to Darko Ristic, the agent of Vlahovic.

The paper do state that Spurs have yet to formally approach Fiorentina, never mind make an offer. But Paratici and Spurs have sounded out Ristic over a move for his 21-year-old client.

The Serbia international blasted 21 Serie A goals for the 10th placed Viola last season, including 12 in the last 12 games.

The Italian side’s focus remains on getting Vlahovic to sign a new deal until 2025. His current contract expires in 2023 and Fiorentina are understood to be keen to extend that.

New contract clause

Although as of last month, Vlahovic claimed a  new deal with the Tuscans had not been offered to him.

“I will when they offer it to me,” Vlahovic said, when asked about signing a contract.

According to numerous reports in Italy, the sticking point of the deal is that Fiorentina want to include a high release clause in the new contract.

Tuttosport have claimed they want to include a minimum transfer fee between €80m and €100m. The player’s entourage meanwhile want a release clause closer to €50m.

Spurs though are watching developments closely and look set to up their interest should they relent and allow Kane to move on.

They are reported to have made their first tentative move for Vlahovic. And per the report are “willing to spend important figures” to sign the 6ft 3in forward.
