Raphinha talks Leeds positives as star reassures fans over relegation worries

Leeds star Raphinha has admitted though there are some worries for Leeds’ Premier League safety, the side are capable of turning things around.

The situation Leeds find themselves in currently is not exactly a positive one. Indeed, they sit just two places above the Premier League relegation places, in 16th.

The eight-strong absentee list at Leeds includes Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo. Indeed, that leaves Marcelo Bielsa with very limited options for selection.

Coupled with a string of defeats, albeit to Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, Leeds find themselves in a perilous position. What’s more, the Whites have conceded 14 goals in those last three games.

Despite concern that they will continue to slip down the table, Raphinha feels that the squad will be able to turn things around.

“Of course we look at the situation and the low position in the table and we are concerned about not getting the results we deserve,” he told the Daily Mirror.

“But we know there are a lot of games ahead of us to turn the situation around.”

Indeed, the second half of the season presents an opportunity for Leeds to do just that.

“I don’t think we have played bad football,” he added.

Indeed, the football that Leeds play often gains recognition, even when the results do not go their way. What’s more, Pep Guardiola praised Bielsa’s side after City beat them 7-0 recently.

Raphinha feels Leeds wins will come

Raphinha went on to explain how the side have been unlucky in recent weeks.

“I think we have had a lot of bad luck and been unable to finish off games. That’s football,” he said.

Although, clearly the Brazilian feels the side has what it takes to begin winning games once again.

“The most important thing is winning games and if you play well, but don’t win, you’re not picking up the three points,” he said.

“The most important thing is getting those wins to put points on the table to get out of the situation we find ourselves in.”

Leeds fans will hope the side can begin to do that in whatever way is necessary. Of course, they will want to avoid a relegation scrap come the end of the season.
