Report claims Harry Kane has already picked next club and is demanding monster contract

A report on Tuesday claims that Tottenham striker Harry Kane has already picked his next club and is ready to demand a monster new contract.

Manchester City have emerged as the early frontrunners for the England skipper, who is said to have told Spurs that he wants to quit the club this summer. City, Manchester United and Chelsea are the three clubs so far linked with a big-money swoop for the 27-year-old.

Any move for Kane is expected to fetch well in excess of £100million, with some reports suggesting Daniel Levy will demand nearer to £150m.

But a report in the Daily Mirror claims that the prolific marksman has already ‘set his sights’ on joining City.

The report also adds that Kane is confident that a deal to take him to The Etihad will get done over the summer.

As well as the eye-catching transfer fee, Kane also expects to earn more than the £200,000-a-week he earns in north London.

Champions League finalists City are expected to move for a new striker this summer, with Sergio Aguero ending his trophy-laden spell with the club.

Aguero (182 goals) is the only active player with more Premier League goals than Kane (165).

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are also in the running to sign Kane, who is still contracted until 2024.

United’s need is not as glaring as City’s, after the evergreen Edinson Cavani extended his Old Trafford stay.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are yet to be convinced that Timo Werner will eventually come good after the German’s struggles this term.

For his part, Kane also wants a move done prior to the start of Euro 2020. However, Daniel Levy is sure to drag any deal out to get the best possible price for Spurs.

Levy told three attackers who could replace Kane

Meanwhile, Daniel Levy has been told that he should spend the funds from any potential sale of Kane on three new attacking players this summer.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed another outstanding campaign, with a combined 36 goals and assists in 33 Premier League outings.

If Levy does decide to do business, which still remains a big if, then he would demand around £150m for Spurs’ talisman.

That sort of figure would certainly provide whoever the new manager of the club is with significant funds to strengthen.

And Harry Redknapp, who managed the club between 2008 and 2012, thinks Levy should chase Brentford’s 31-goal hitman Ivan Toney.

He also highlighted Southampton’s Danny Ings as a potential replacement for Kane. However, Redknapp acknowledged that replacing the England skipper will be incredibly hard.

Redknapp’s comments were echoed by Darren Bent, who also thinks his club should try and bring in Wilfried Zaha.

“You’re going to have to start getting goals from other areas,” added Bent. “I’ve spoken about Danny Ings, he’s not a direct replacement, but he’ll get you goals.

“[Spurs need] someone like Wilfried Zaha. Get him in the squad, you’d be able to get him if you’ve got £150m to spend. You’ll have to add additions all over the Spurs team, we’ve seen them try that before and they failed miserably.

“Recruitment could be better this time around. Zaha and Ings would be a good start.”
