Source reveals two options for Paul Pogba on Man Utd future as Dean Henderson fears mount

Manchester United fully expect Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford beyond the January transfer window – but their chances of keeping Dean Henderson look to have taken a turn for the worse.

Pogba and his notorious agent Mino Raiola are currently in talks with clubs as the January transfer window nears. After the turn of the year, the 28-year-old can sign a pre-contract agreement with his contract expiring next summer.

Real Madrid have already reportedly pulled out of the running. They supposedly don’t think the France international would fit into their squad.

And now their La Liga rivals, Barcelona, have also turned their nose up at the opportunity to sign him on a free.

Nonetheless, Pogba will not be short on offers come the end of the season. Despite his huge wages, the opportunity to sign the World Cup winner will likely attract the likes of PSG and former club Juventus.

There remains the prospect of course that Pogba could yet agree fresh terms with United.

In addition, another option could see United agreeing to a cut-price sale of the midfielder in January.

Indeed, ESPN claims United will consider offers for Pogba should he continue to shun a new deal. However, they report there has been no approach to United at this stage and that is likely to continue to stay the case through the month.

As such, they claim United fully expect Pogba to still be at Old Trafford come the close of the January window.

And that, in turn, will lead to one of two outcomes: either the player leaves on a free at the end of the season. Or he performs a U-turn and decides, after all, to stay at Old Trafford.

Indeed, the 28-year-old is closing in on a comeback following the muscle injury he sustained in November. ESPN also claims that Pogba has expressed a willingness to work with interim coach Ralf Rangnick.

United though are reportedly planning for his exit at the end of the season. And it seems United already have a prospective replacement in mind.

Dean Henderson ready for critical United talks

Meanwhile, the future of Dean Henderson remains very much in the air at Old Trafford.

The keeper is understandably frustrated at his lack of playing so far this season. Indeed, he’s been restricted to just two appearances so far, with David De Gea firmly established as No 1.

With the World Cup less than a year away, Henderson is keen to gain regular minutes to further his prospects.

Reports claim Ajax are exploring the possibility of signing Henderson on an 18-month loan deal.

United are reluctant to let him leave, however, and know his departure will leave them short for cover. Indeed, his exit would only leave just Tom Heaton as back-up.

Nonetheless, Henderson is reportedly pushing to leave and ESPN reports that his agent is due to hold talks with United officials next week to decide on his future.
