Terry delivers three-word riposte to Chelsea star’s Tottenham transfer links

Chelsea legend John Terry made his feelings crystal clear when responding to the news of a Blues star being linked with a Tottenham transfer.

Chelsea made their statement signing last week when bringing clinical hitman Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge. The Belgian, 28, cost around £97.5m, though that will look like a bargain if he fires them to the Premier League title this season.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly keen to make another splash in the market for an England sensation. Furthermore, their interest in Sevilla centre-half Jules Kounde has intensified following the completion of Lukaku’s deal.

However, the headlines regarding the club in recent days have surrounded who will depart.

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly told three Chelsea stars costing a combined £90m that their Blues careers are over. Additionally, the future of Kurt Zouma at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.

The French centre-half is understood to be free to leave if a suitor is prepared to match Chelsea’s £25m valuation.

Including him as a makeweight in to sweeten a deal for Kounde was explored. Though Zouma is believed to prefer a move to another English side.

West Ham have frequently been linked. But news surfaced on Tuesday of Tottenham trying to muscle in on the switch with the Hammers struggling to justify matching Zouma’s fee and wage demands.

A Tottenham transfer might not sit well with some fans, and Blues legend Terry has warned Zouma off making the move.

Responding to a Sky Sports instagram post regarding the links, Terry posted: “Don’t do it @kurtzouma,” along with an eyes emoji.

Spurs remain on the hunt for reinforcements in the position despite landing Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

Serie A pair Takehiro Tomiyasu and Nikola Milenkovic have also been touted. But Zouma would arguably be the safest option given his extensive Premier League experience.

Kane ups ante in Paratici meeting

Meanwhile, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has told transfer chief Fabio Paratici in a key meeting that he wants a move away, according to a report.

Kane reportedly feels he has a gentleman’s agreement with Levy allowing him to leave this summer. Levy, noting the striker has three years left on his contract, believes otherwise.

While he is reportedly willing to sell his star man for £150million, £127million is City’s best mooted offer so far.

Still, Kane only returned to training last Friday and The Athletic have revealed he recently held a meeting with managing director Paratici.

The pair were face-to-face and the striker told the chief ‘repeatedly’ that he wants to leave.
