Tottenham learn price needed to beat long line of clubs to transfer of breakout star

Tottenham have learned the price they would need to pay to secure the signing of breakout Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

Bremer is enjoying a great campaign with Torino. He has played 65 games for the Serie A side over the past couple of seasons.

However, it is this year that he has truly shown his class. The defender has been part of a fantastic defence at Torino.

Indeed, the Turin outfit have the fifth-best defensive record in Serie A, despite being 11th. What’s more, Bremer has contributed to four goals this term, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

His leadership attributes also show him to be a quality player. The 25-year-old has captained Torino on a number of occasions during this campaign.

Given the tremendous assets the centre-back has, he has become a target for a number of big sides. The Premier League looks to be a potential destination for Bremer, as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the interested clubs.

Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, claims that Tottenham are also in the hunt for the Brazilian. Though the race will be a toughly contested one, as that report also states ‘everyone wants him’.

Bremer is under contract with Torino until 2024, having recently renewed his deal.

As such, the Serie A side will not want to see him leave without putting up a fight.

With that being said though, and with the number of sides that are reported to be interested, Torino may be forced to sell.

Tottenham learn Bremer valuation

The report that mentioned Tottenham’s interest also states that Bremer’s valuation has ‘shot past €50million’ (£41.5million).

That is a lot of money for any side to pay, especially for a defender. In fact, Tottenham have only ever paid a sum higher than that for one player, when they dropped £54million on Tanguy Ndombele.

As such, the price tag may drive them, and a host of other sides, out of the running for the centre-back.

However, if Antonio Conte wants him, it will be no surprise if he attempts to spend big money on Bremer.
