Tottenham man declares he is at ‘end of a cycle’ as he pushes for transfer

A Tottenham star has confirmed he wants to leave this summer and has named the club that he would like ideally like to join.

A number of Spurs players have been linked with making an exit in the coming months. That’s after they missed out on both the Champions League and Europa League. Their seventh place finish in the Premier League means they will compete in the new Europa Conference League instead.

Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Hugo Lloris, Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are amongst those reportedly looking for a way out

Another player who is likely to depart is defender Serge Aurier. The Frenchman joined from PSG in 2017, and has since made 110 appearances for the North London outfit.

But with just 12 months remaining on his contract and no extension agreed, he has been expected to move on.

And he has now publicly confirmed that he wants a transfer, declaring he has no intention of negotiating a new deal.

“Everyone is aware that if I wanted to extend my deal at Tottenham, I would’ve done so already,” Aurier told L’Equipe (via Goal.)

“I’m not going to do it in six months. I’ve reached the end of a cycle and it’s time to look elsewhere. The two parties, Tottenham’s board and my agents, have agreed upon the conditions. We’ll see after that.”

Aurier wants PSG return

The right-back played 81 games for PSG before moving to England. And Le Parc des Princes is the place he wants to call home again from next season onwards.

“I’ve never hidden by desire to return to PSG one day,” he added. “It’s the club of my heart, the one that I support and I feel free to speak about it.

“But I don’t want people to think that I’m stuck on them and I’m not closing the door on anyone.

“But if the club were to make an offer this summer, it’s sure that PSG would be my first choice.”

Reports earlier this month suggested a deal for Aurier to switch back to Paris is as good as done.

Real Madrid have also been linked, but they seem to have beaten to the punch by the Ligue 1 giants.
