Tottenham plotting triple raid with Man Utd target, £30m midfielder and surprise reunion all eyed

Tottenham are lining up a triple swoop this summer to give Antonio Conte brand new weapons, though two of the deals could hinge on one important factor, per a report.

Spurs’ season was meandering towards obscurity under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo. Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy has never been shy of making a decision, however, and fans of the club will be glad he did regarding the manager.

Bringing Antonio Conte on board was seen as a huge coup for the club. His reputation as a serial winner and a taskmaster on the training ground was what many believed Spurs desperately required.

Indeed, Tottenham were ninth when the Italian took charge. Heading into this weekend’s fixtures, they now sit fourth – three points ahead of bitter rivals Arsenal.

Champions League qualification is now a very real prospect, and according to GiveMeSport, Spurs are lining up a triple swoop to to ensure Conte has plenty of strength in depth going forward.

The outlet report goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, Leicester ace Youri Tielemans, and former Spurs favourite Christian Eriksen are all being eyed.

Links to West Brom stopper Johnstone have swelled of late. The 29-year-old will become a free agent this summer and manager Steve Bruce recently admitted he’s on course to leave.

Man Utd and Tottenham have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature. However, Football League World recently revealed why Tottenham are ‘very confident’ they’ve got the drop on United.

His arrival would coincide with Pierluigi Gollini’s return to Atalanta after failing to impress on loan.

Tielemans, Eriksen dependant on Tottenham achievement

While that deal may be straight forward, GiveMeSport claim moves for Tielemans and Eriksen could hinge on securing Champions League football.

The pair are deemed ‘priority cases’ in the market – though only if top four is achieved.

Eriksen previously played for Spurs between 2013-20 and established himself as a fan favourite in north London.

He forged an excellent understanding with Harry Kane before leaving for Inter Milan – then managed by Conte – in 2020.

Eriksen’s recovery and return to first-team football after suffering cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 has been a heart-warming story.

He earned a six-month contract at Brentford in January, though the Dane has already proved his worth with a series of stellar displays that have pushed the Bees towards safety.

With the playmaker picking up where he left off and his contract expiring this summer, it’s claimed Brentford’s chances of retaining him are ‘very slim’.

Tottenham were said to be ‘disappointed’ at the manner in which he left two years ago. However, there is now no ill will between club and player and they are now open to welcoming him back.

Adding further fuel to the fire were comments from Conte on Eriksen in February when the Italian appeared to lay the groundwork for Eriksen’s return to north London.

The final – and most eye-catching deal touted – is that of Youri Tielemans.

The 24-year-old’s future will come to a head this summer with a new deal at Leicester unlikely to be signed. His current contract expires in 2023, meaning now is the time for the Foxes to cash in.

Tielemans has also emerged on the radars of Man Utd and Liverpool. However, the Belgian is deemed a ‘wanted man’ by Tottenham officials who reckon he’s open to moving.

A knock-down fee of £30m could be enough to secure his signature given his contract status.

If signed, Conte would have three excellent central midfielders to choose from with Tielemans joining Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the engine room.

To make room, Tanguy Ndombele’s permanent sale could be sanctioned. The Frenchman is currently on loan at Lyon.
