Tottenham press ‘panic button’ as Daniel Levy makes double offer for Juventus pair

Tottenham are in full blown “panic” mode and have made a desperate offer for Juventus pair Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, claims a well respected source.

Spurs’ transfer window has been somewhat of a shambles so far after Adama Traore and Luis Diaz rejected moves to the club. Wolves winger Traore is expected to return to Barcelona, despite Spurs’ heavy interest in the speed merchant. But Antonio Conte’s desire to play the attacker at wing-back reportedly saw Traore look to LaLiga.

Daniel Levy was also leading the hunt for Porto attacker Luis Diaz before Liverpool arrived on the scene. The Reds moved quickly after releasing that Spurs and Man Utd had designs on the 25-year-old.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal which will see them pay an initial £37.5m to Porto for Diaz, with a maximum of £16.5m in add-ons.

That left Levy and Antonio Conte scratching their heads and a £100,000 bid for Ollie Tanner will not fill the void.

The Evening Standard claim Tottenham have made a bid for 19-year-old Tanner, who lays for Lewes in the Isthmian Premier Division, which is the seventh tier of English football.

Levy though has, according to The Telegraph, “pressed the panic button” and made a double move.

David Ornstein reports that Spurs are working on a deal to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

The Athletic says any transfer would be loan with an option or obligation to buy.

Kulusevski is under contract until 2025 and has made 20 Serie A appearances for Juventus this season.

The 21-year-old has only started in half of those and scored just once.

Bentancur loan approach

Spurs director Fabio Paratici signed Kulusevski at Juventus for €35m plus €10m in add ons from Atalanta. While Conte wanted him at Inter Milan.

Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with Spurs eager to get an agreement in place.

Meanwhile, Spurs have also asked about taking Rodrigo Bentancur on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Turin side have knocked back that proposal after fielding permanent offers for the Uruguayan.

Sky in Italy report that Juventus have rejected a bid worth around £20.5m from Aston Villa for the defensive midfielder.

Villa’s opening offer was worth around £16.5m, with more than £4m in bonuses but Juve want around £21m up front in order to start talks.
