Vital transfer gets multiple votes of confidence – ‘he will leave for West Ham’

Several outlets are insisting the Hammers will soon secure a centre-half signing after it was declared ‘he will leave for West Ham’.

With a tricky Europa League campaign to juggle, West Ham are in desperate need of new faces to bolster their depth. A signing in the forward ranks is thought to be high on their agenda. Their efforts to bring Jesse Lingard back on board have failed to yield a breakthrough thus far.

Elsewhere, a new addition at the heart of defence has been frequently touted in the press. Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma was believed to be on their radar amid the Blues’ ongoing pursuit of Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

Progress on that front seems to have stalled, however, and was quickly replaced by interest in Serie A centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

The 23-year-old Serbian plies his trade for Fiorentina and had been linked with Tottenham earlier in the window.

The Telegraph highlighted a potential issue regarding his transfer valuation in early August. Fiorentina have been reported to be seeking a fee of between €18m-€20m for his signature.

But with just one year remaining on his current deal and a contract renewal unlikely, Sport Witness reveal the two clubs could soon meet in the middle.

Citing Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, they state Milenkovic ‘will leave for West Ham.’

The Italian newspaper insist David Moyes’ side have offered €15m for Milenkovic who is ‘about to leave.’

The discrepancy in figures will need to be overcome. But the article claims a meeting was held between Milenkovic’s agent and Fiorentina that will likely result in the two clubs ‘meeting in the middle.’

Fellow Italian outlets SportItalia and FootballItalia also have the story. Via HammersNews, they claim a compromise of €17m (£14.5m) plus add-ons has been reached.

It remains unclear whether Milenkovic has already agreed personal terms. Nevertheless, the Italian press are all singing from the same hymn sheet with regards to an impending West Ham arrival.

West Ham eyeing ex-Watford full-back

Meanwhile, West Ham are close to sealing a deal for Villarreal defender Pervis Estupinan, per an Italian outlet.

Calcio News 24 are reporting that the Scot has his eyes on left-back Estupinan. The Ecuador international has spent one season with Villarreal.

Prior to his Villarreal move, Estupinan was linked to both Manchester United and Tottenham. The Red Devils were keen to get him on board and then loan him out to another English club to gain experience.

That did not happen but he has seen plenty of action in Spain. A switch to London is now on the cards and he does seem a player suited to the English game.

There has been no mention of his price tag. But the Spaniards will want to make a profit on the £15m they forked out last year. Hammers fans will hope that his arrival might pave the way for further additions to the squad – especially up front.
