West Ham boosted as selling club’s president says target’s transfer ‘almost certain’

West Ham have been boosted in their pursuit of Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima after comments from the Czech club’s president.

Sima scored 11 goals from 21 appearances in the Czech top flight in 2020-21. He also added four goals from 11 European games. It was a promising debut season for the 20-year-old, who also made his senior debut for Senegal along the way. With his stock quickly rising, it seems he could be set for the next step.

In May, Slavia Prague confirmed that West Ham were interested in Sima. The Hammers are looking to replenish their forward ranks and he could be a long-term prospect.

But they are far from the only side to have been linked. Arsenal, Leeds and Manchester United have also been mentioned as contenders for his signature, for example.

Now, Slavia Prague president Jaroslav Tvrdik has revealed that there are six contenders for Sima’s signature. Two of those are from the Premier League, and it is “almost certain” that the striker will be on the move.

“We negotiate through his agent or directly with six candidates,” Tvrdik told his club’s website. “Two are from the Premier League, two from France, one from Germany, one from Italy.

“I consider his transfer very likely.

“When he leaves I can’t answer at the moment; transfers are delayed while playing EURO.

“Departure can take place in August at the end of the transfer period. But it is almost certain that he will leave Slavia.”

Sima more likely than En-Nesyri

If West Ham are indeed one of those two Premier League clubs fighting for Sima’s signature, he will be easier to acquire than another of their attacking targets.

The agent of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri has told West Ham, Wolves and a mystery Premier League suitor that they have no chance of signing his client this summer.

“We don’t want to hear any offer,” Ouzifi told El Desmarque. “There are three teams from England but he doesn’t want to go.

“We don’t want to talk about this issue because En-Nesyri doesn’t want to leave Sevilla and stays this year in Seville.”

Therefore, the Hammers are turning their focus elsewhere and Sima may well be on their radar still.
