Leeds star feeling the pressure following Liverpool battering, but looks to inflict further Tottenham woe

Adam Forshaw admitted the tough nature of accepting the 6-0 defeat Leeds United suffered on Wednesday, but knows the side must keep moving.

The Whites were handed a battering by second-placed Liverpool in the week. Indeed, that result was Leeds’ fourth loss in five games.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side find themselves in a precarious position, just three points above the drop zone. Furthermore, two of the teams below them have two games in hand over Leeds.

The loss to Liverpool was one of Leeds’ worst performances of the season. The 56 goals they have shipped is the most across the whole of the Premier League this season.

Whites midfielder Forshaw admitted a gulf in class, leading to Liverpool handing Leeds a heavy loss.

“It was two different teams in class,” he told the Leeds United Official Youtube channel.

“We started ok and then gave [away] some sloppy goals. There is no hiding from it, you can’t analyse it too much now but we will break it down tomorrow.”

The midfielder, who has been praised for his good form in recent weeks, admitted the loss was tough to take.

“It’s hard not to let it affect you, I won’t lie,” he said.

However, Leeds will need to dust themselves off and try to change their fortunes in the next game.

“We’ve got an important game on Saturday so we’ve got to move on quickly as well at the same time,” he said.

Forshaw and Phillips will link up again

In other news, Whites midfielder Kalvin Phillips is eyeing a new contract with Leeds. The midfielder has played for the side for his whole career, and is keen to remain at the club.

“But I speak to the owner regularly. I want a new contract. I’m very happy here,” he said.

In the short term, the midfielder is keen on getting back onto the pitch.

“I just want to focus on getting back fit,” he said.

Indeed, Phillips returning to the side will be a massive boost.
