Rangers to take hit after deciding to offload £3m Gerrard signing for right price

Rangers are reportedly preparing to offload striker Cedric Itten this summer, if they receive a suitable offer for the player.

The Swiss international has not had the best of times since arriving in a reported £3million deal from Swiss outfit St Gallen in August 2020 and his Ibrox career looks to be coming to an end.

The 25-year-old scored six times in 37 appearances in his first season with the club. However, he was offloaded to German side Greuther Furth earlier in the campaign before being recalled in January.

Jermain Defoe’s exit prompted the recall and Itten has notched once since then in the Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion.

And now Football Insider claims that Gers will look to raise funds to improve Giovani van Bronckhorst’s squad by offloading Itten.

While it’s unlikely they will recoup the near £3m they spent, Gers still hope to receive a significant fee.

The Ibrox outfit are next in action when they face Old Firm foes Celtic after the international break on April 2.

Gers currently trail their bitter rivals three points in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
