Situation goes from bad to worse for Everton as PSG register interest in crucial star

The problems at Everton could intensify further after a report claimed Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on the signing of Richarlison.

Everton’s issues at the moment are clear for all to see. Of their last seven matches in the league, they have won just one, losing each of the rest.

A 3-2 loss against Burnley in the week added to their problems. The Toffees were dragged further into the relegation battle and now sit just one point above the drop zone.

Everton took a one-goal lead into the second half, where they were resigned to defeat. One of Everton’s brightest sparks in recent weeks, Richarlison, scored a brace of penalties in the loss.

Indeed, the Brazilian has not only been tireless this season, but has long been one of Everton’s most crucial assets.

Richarlison has bagged 49 goals, and provided 13 assists in his time at Goodison Park. In three full seasons at the club before this term, he has never failed to hit 10 goals in all competitions.

What’s more, the forward is joint with Andros Townsend for the most goal contributions at the club this season. The pair both have seven goals and four assists for the current campaign.

Clearly, Richarlison is a major aspect of the Everton team. However, they could face further problems in the form of transfer interest for the star.

Calciomercato reports that Richarlison is a target of PSG’s.

Should Everton lose the star, they would lose a lot of quality in the final third of the pitch.

Richarlison a priority for PSG

The report states that PSG see Richarlison as ‘one of the priorities’ in terms of new signings.

Of course, Everton would be less than keen to see the back of their star. However, should they be relegated, keeping hold of the talented forward would be a tough task.

There has also been reported interest in the 24-year-old from Juventus. Given Richarlison is still under contract for another two years, and two sides are reportedly interested, Everton could generate a high fee.

However, that may be the only positive that could come out of potentially losing their talisman.
