Ralf Rangnick promotes three Man Utd starlets to first-team training before Arsenal clash

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has reportedly promoted three youngsters to first-team training – meaning they could feature against Arsenal.

The Red Devils travel to the Emirates on Saturday to face Mikel Arteta’s side, who occupy fifth spot. Rangnick will be hoping for a response from his players after their poor defeat to Liverpool earlier this week.

The Manchester United stars also have to impress incoming manager Erik ten Hag. He will take over from Rangnick this summer after agreeing a three-year contract.

The Sun provide an update on the state of United’s first-team training sessions. They reveal Rangnick brought starlets Alejandro Garnacho, Alvaro Fernandez and Shola Shoretire up to senior level.

They join Tunisian teenager Hannibal Mejbri in making the sessions, after he was promoted earlier this season. Hannibal came off the bench at Liverpool and did enough to earn praise from Gary Neville for his tenacity.

Rangnick’s decision means Garnacho, Fernandez and Shoretire might be given game time in north London.

Ralf Rangnick could give trio an opportunity

Garnacho, 17, is a left winger who represents Argentina U20s. He is in good form, having hit 12 goals in 30 matches this campaign.

The Madrid-born ace is yet to make his senior United debut. Rangnick could be the one to give it to him this weekend.

Fernandez, 19, is a left-back currently playing for Spain U19s on the international stage. Like Garnacho, he hasn’t featured in a first-team match for United just yet.

The defender [pictured below] has good pedigree, having spent time in the Real Madrid academy before moving to Manchester.

The Sun state Fernandez could be useful before the end of the season due to Luke Shaw being out with a leg injury.

Right winger Shoretire also made United training this week. Fans may already know the Englishman after he made three appearances last term.

Shoretire also got 22 minutes of football in the Champions League group stage match against Young Boys back in December.

The three youngsters are unlikely to start against Arsenal but may come off the bench in the latter stages.
