Blow for Arsenal: Transfer target holds positive contract talks with European giants
Bayern Munich have reportedly made an improved contract offer to winger Leroy Sane as they look to secure his services beyond this summer, according to Sky Germany.
The 29-year-old’s existing deal is set to expire on June 30, and negotiations have been ongoing to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.
Sane, who joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2020, has been a key figure for the Bavarian club, contributing significantly to their domestic and European campaigns.
In the 2024–25 season, he recorded 13 goals and six assists across all competitions, showcasing his continued importance to the team.
Bayern Munich offer new contract to Sane
The improved offer from Bayern reportedly includes a higher fixed salary, although the overall financial package remains similar to previous proposals.
This development follows positive discussions between Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl and Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi.
Despite Bayern’s efforts, Premier League clubs are closely monitoring the situation.
Arsenal, in particular, have shown interest in bringing Sane back to England, where he previously enjoyed success with Manchester City.

However, Sane’s wage demands, reportedly exceeding £300,000 per week, could pose a challenge for interested clubs.
While Bayern Munich are eager to retain him, the allure of a return to the Premier League and the interest from top English clubs could influence his decision.
