Chelsea quoted fee for Lukaku teammate as double Inter raid takes shape

Achraf Hakimi will cost at least €60m if Chelsea want to sign him this summer – but they are strong contenders, according to reports.

Hakimi has just enjoyed a strong season with Inter Milan, whom he joined from Real Madrid. His marauding performances as a right wing-back helped Inter win the Serie A title. But the Nerazzurri are now in serious financial trouble and head coach Antonio Conte has already left.

A number of key players will also have to depart, which could lead to opportunities for other clubs. For example, Chelsea have been heavily linked with bringing Romelu Lukaku back to the club.

Timo Werner has not hit the heights expected of him in his debut season, so Chelsea could look for an upgrade up front. Lukaku has been in sensational form for Inter and Chelsea could break their transfer record to re-sign him.

But he is not the only Inter player on their radar, as they are also keen on Hakimi. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are one of three contenders, alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, for the full-back.

The Blues currently have Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James as their options at right-back. But both are also capable of filling in at centre-back, so Chelsea could sign Hakimi to be a specialist in the wider role.

PSG have also made Hakimi a top target, though, as they look to find a solution on the right-hand side of their defence.

And Bayern could try to take him back to the Bundesliga, where he previously played for Borussia Dortmund.

Despite needing to raise funds, Inter will still hold a tough stance over Hakimi’s future. He is under contract until 2025 and therefore they will not consider offers below €60m.

Hakimi happy at Inter

The Morocco international has also been linked with a move to Chelsea’s cross-London rivals Arsenal.

But at the height of those rumours back in April, Hakimi suggested he still saw his future being in Milan.

“The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project,” he told La Repubblica.

“I’m honoured to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo. I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together.

“I hope to stay at this club for a long time and I’m very happy.”
