Dangerous new suitor ‘bursts’ into frame for Mo Salah with Liverpool ace offered huge salary

A new European giant is reportedly in the mix for Liverpool forward Mo Salah and they are willing to pay big money to snatch him from Anfield.

Liverpool want to agree a renewal with the goalscorer as his current contract expires in 2023. However, an extension is yet to materialise. That means some of the continent’s biggest teams are sitting up and taking notice.

Barcelona have been among the potential suitors. Their finances look a lot better than last year and that could see Salah move to the Nou Camp.

Such a transfer would allow Xavi to operate with a frightening front three. He already has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, Ousmane Dembele and Adama Traore at his disposal.

However, Barca now face serious competition from a European rival for Salah’s services. And it could see them drop out of the race altogether.

Spanish outlet Sport provide an update on the right winger’s future. They claim he is attracted by the potential to work with Xavi in Spain.

Mo Salah wanted by new club

But complications for the deal are arising, most notably in the form of Paris Saint-Germain. The report states Mauricio Pochettino’s side have ‘burst’ into frame for Salah.

They view the Egyptian as an ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who may well be playing for Real Madrid next season.

As such, PSG have made contact with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abass Issa. They have come forward with a ‘firm proposal’ worth an astonishing £800,000 per week.

This would double what Salah is hoping to earn at Liverpool. As such, PSG can now be seen as the frontrunners to capture the 29-year-old from Merseyside.

Contradictory reports emerge

Sport Witness, who cite separate reports coming out of Spain, give a contradictory update on the star’s discussions.

They claim Barca are likely to give up on Salah as he is ‘about to say yes’ to a new deal with Liverpool.

The report doesn’t reveal how much it will be worth, but Liverpool have apparently put a good enough contract on the table.

Salah has turned the transfer chase ‘upside down’ by prioritising a renewal at Liverpool, rather than an exit. He wants to continue his brilliant legacy with the Reds and potentially get near Ian Rush’s goal record.
