Euro Paper Talk: Ruthless Rangnick to bin four Man Utd stars amid quadruple splurge; three big hitters eyeing Leeds attacker
Ralf Rangnick is planning a huge overhaul at Manchester United, with four players in and four out in January, three clubs are in the race to sign a Leeds United favourite, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk claims a Bundesliga midfielder is setting his sights on a move to Liverpool.
REVEALED: THE FOUR STARS RANGNICK WANTS AT MAN UTD
Manchester United are likely to make wholesale changes of their playing staff under Ralf Rangnick, according to widespread reports.
The Red Devils have appointed the Rangnick, 63, to oversee their bright new era after showing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the door.
Rangnick will coach United until the end of the season, before undertaking a two-year advisory role.
He is likely to have a huge say in the players brought to the club – and likewise those who depart.
Indeed, a report on Wednesday claims Rangnick has a £100m kitty to spend at United in 2022.
Now the German has three players from his former club RB Leipzig very much in his sights.
As such, his interest in midfielder Amadou Haidara has been well documented.
However, Rangnick is also keen to bring in right-back Nordi Mukiele, according to 90 min.
The 24-year-old Frenchman is seen as an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka. And while Wan-Bissaka will be kept on, Rangnick wants stronger competition for his spot. His arrival, though, will clear the way for Diogo Dalot to depart.
Rangnick sees Nkunku as Pogba replacement
Bild also report a third Leipzig star is very much of interest in the shape of Christoper Nkunku.
Nkunku, 24, is a versatile attacking midfielder who has scored 13 goals and registered 12 assists in 19 matches this season.
And finally, Bild’s Christian Falk also detailed how Rangnick is planning a reunion with Timo Werner at Old Trafford.
The capture of all four players, who Rangnick knows well, will inevitably lead to some big-name exits, however.
As well as Dalot, it’s reported that Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Fred will likely move on.
Pogba and Cavani are approaching the end of their deals. As such, United will reportedly look to sell them for as much as possible in January.
Fred, meanwhile, looks set to be the main casualty should United trigger the €39m exit clause Haidara be sealed.
