Everton, Wolves must act fast with Milan plotting new deal for striker target
Everton and Wolves will need to act quickly if they want to sign a striker from AC Milan as the Italian giants plan to offer him a new contract.
Both Premier League sides are looking at attacking reinforcements ahead of next summer. Everton are wary of Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Brazil international Richarlison.
The 24-year-old has been touted as a future replacement for Kylian Mbappe in the French capital. His strike partner, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, is being monitored by Arsenal to succeed from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates.
As such, Everton are preparing for major bids in 2022 and are lining up replacements of their own.
Wolves, meanwhile, brought in Hwang Hee-chan on August 30. The South Korean arrived at Molineux to compete with Raul Jimenez for a starting place.
Bruno Lage can also rely on youngster Fabio Silva in attack, although Wolves are still looking to bolster their forward line.
Everton and Wolves are known to be keen admirers of Milan’s Rafael Leao. He is a Portugal U21 star that has reached four goals in nine appearances so far this campaign.
The attacker, who can play centrally or on the left flank, registered an assist in the recent Champions League match against Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side came out on top thanks to Jordan Henderson’s second-half winner.
Leao also got on the scoresheet during the group stage defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Italian outlet Calciomercato now provide an update on the player’s future. They state that Milan chiefs are preparing to offer him a long-term contract extension.
The club want to reward Leao for his loyalty in the summer. He was pursued by a number of clubs but opted to stay in Italy. His exceptional form this term is another major reason for the discussions.
The news means either Everton or Wolves will have to move fast to sign Leao. The potential for a January deal is there, but only if they meet Milan’s asking price.
The Italian giants have previously requested €30million (£25.7m) for his services.

Besiktas hoping to land Everton forward
It could be one in and one out at Goodison Park next summer. Cenk Tosun is out of contract on July 1 and Turkish outlet Sabah report that Besiktas want to sign him.
The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at the club after falling out of favour on Merseyside.
He is currently in rehabilitation due to a serious knee problem suffered while in Turkey. Besiktas will wait for him to reach full fitness and become a free agent before trying to finalise a deal.
Tosun joined the Toffees three years ago but has only scored 11 times in all competitions for the club.
