Leicester closing in on Arsenal talent in rare deadline day move

Leicester City are reportedly closing in on the signing of talented Arsenal youngster Amani Richards.

The 17-year-old has been at the Emirates Stadium since March last year, having signed from London rivals Chelsea. However, he now appears to be on his way to the Foxes – just two months after signing his first professional contract.

As stated by football.london, the teenager is currently undergoing a medical ahead of a switch.

Richards has been a regular for Arsenal’s youth teams so far this season. He has featured eight times for the club’s Under-18s but has failed to register a goal or an assist.

The youngster has the ability to play out wide or through the middle and will likely be added to Leicester’s youth ranks.

City have had recent success in bringing younger players into the first-team fold. Indeed, Brendan Rodgers has handed debuts to the likes of  Lewis Brunt, Kasey McAteer and Will Alves.

Vontae Daley-Campbell, who also signed from Arsenal, has also made appearances for the first team this season.

At his stage, the report does not mention what sort of fee is involved for the transfer.
