Manchester return most likely as Ronaldo presses agent for Juventus exit

A return to Manchester looks the most likely solution to Cristiano Ronaldo’s demands of an exit from Juventus, according to one Italian outlet.

The footballing megastar has been strongly linked with a move away from his current club. The Serie A side are reportedly content with letting Ronaldo leave for a fee this summer instead of having him for another year and seeing him depart for nothing at the end of the season.

A cut-price £25m price tag for one of the sport’s greatest ever athletes has obviously put all of the top sides in the mix.

Just last week the 36-year-old put out a statement to rubbish links to Real Madrid.

He also seemingly said he was focused on the task at hand with Juventus. Nevertheless, reports surrounding his departure have persisted.

In the latest updates of the saga, Corriere dello Sport have reported his agent Jorge Mendes is under pressure to secure a move in the last week of the summer window.

The super-agent has been offering the Portugal captain to potential suitors. But he is running out of time to find a club willing to pay the €31m annual salary.

Another Italian paper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, have reported on two of those who can afford the large sum.

They say Paris Saint-Germain are not in the running, therefore leaving Manchester City as the only possible destination.

Further reports (as cited by Football Italia) suggest the French side could still make a move. However, they can only do so if they offload Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe, like his idol, has also been embroiled in a transfer saga this summer. He wants out of Paris and supposedly fancies a move to Real Madrid.

It remains to be seen if his exit will be sanctioned, though. As it stands then, City are the only option and most likely next club for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo rumours rubbished after omission

He was left out of the Juventus side to face Udinese at the weekend. Instead, Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri placed him on the bench.

DAZN spoke to Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved about Ronaldo, who insisted the decision was not because of transfer speculation.

“We mustn’t try to create sensational stories where there aren’t any,” said the club legend.

“It was a decision shared with the player. At the start of the season, naturally he is not at top fitness.

“The coach is trying to use the best line-up at this moment. I can absolutely confirm Ronaldo will remain at Juventus this season.”
