Manchester United links to Everton man growing again after failed 2020 transfer
Manchester United remain interested in Everton striker Richarlison, with a second source reporting the Old Trafford club are “weighing up” an offer.
Goal are the latest outlet to suggest that United have a credible interest in the Brazilian. United are in need of a striker this summer, Ralf Rangnick has admitted as much. Edinson Cavani is set to leave on a free transfer and Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is in doubt.
United are also without Mason Greenwood and they will have to delve into the transfer market this summer.
Richarlison, 24, is on United’s radar, with CaughtOffside reporting as much earlier this month.
In fact, that report claimed transfer chief Matt Judge had been in contact with the player’s representatives. With United seemingly willing to fork out a transfer fee of between £60m and £70m.
Real Madrid likely are also likely to be an “interested party” after asking about him last year, per Goal.
But United’s interest in the player goes back several years.
Richarlison offer in 2020
Richarlison even admitted that the Red Devils also tried to sign him during the January 2020 transfer window. But the striker and his club did not want the deal to happen.
“There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona and from Manchester United,” he told Desimpedidos at the time.
“But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season. It’s bad to leave team-mates like this.”
Richarlison is under contract at Goodison until June 2024. He arrived in July 2018 from Watford for an initial £35m.
The 32-cap Brazil forward penned a new deal in December 2019.
He has scored five goals in 23 games in all competitions this season, and grabbed three assists.
