Midfield sensation likened to De Bruyne teases imminent Liverpool transfer

A Liverpool-linked Poland sensation drawing comparisons with Kevin de Bruyne has admitted he is unsure if he will remain with his current club past the January transfer window.

Liverpool were left with a Georginio Wijnaldum-shaped hole in their squad after his free agent exit to PSG. A plethora of stars across Europe were linked, but the Reds opted to keep their powder dry.

Instead, Harvey Elliott was converted into a midfielder and made a superb start to the season.

A devastating ankle injury scuppered the teen’s progress, though his displays showed Liverpool is a place where the right talent can thrive, regardless of age.

Another player who would fit that bill is Poland sensation Kacper Kozlowski. The 17-year-old has already earned five caps at senior level despite his tender age. He currently plies his trade in the Polish top flight with Pogoń Szczecin.

His displays in his homeland have already generated early comparisons with Man City ace Kevin de Bruyne.

As a result, the Mirror recently declared Liverpool to be fronting the queue to secure his signature. AC Milan and Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also in the mix.

Now, via Polish outlet Interia Sport, Kozlowski has left the door ajar to a move in the next window by admitting he could leave in winter.

When responding to the recent transfer links with several European powerhouses including Liverpool, Kozlowski said: “I try to cut myself off from this type of information. Let my agent handle it.

“I don’t know what I will do tomorrow, much less whether I will finish the season in Pogoń or leave in winter. I don’t think about it, I do my own thing. And big names, they do not impress me.

“My dream is to play in this class of club in the future, but I think that the best thing to do is to apply the principle of small steps to reach the goal ”

Kozlowski has already shown a penchant for notching tangible returns. He has bagged three goals and two assists from midfield in the Ekstraklasa so far this season.

Liverpool, Arsenal monitoring versatile Valencia forward

Meanwhile, Goncalo Guedes is attracting interest from Liverpool and Arsenal following a positive start to the season with Valencia, according to reports.

Both clubs have been looking for attacking midfielders or wingers. Liverpool need someone who can offer more support for their front three, for example. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all approaching 30 years of age.

Primarily a winger, Guedes has even adapted his game this season to be able to play as a central striker. That versatility would no doubt appeal to both Liverpool and Arsenal.

According to Spanish site Fichajes, Guedes could be a perfect fit for Premier League football. With that in mind, Liverpool and Arsenal are apparently attentive to his situation.
