Paper Talk: Chelsea consider shock return of former winger as Dortmund eye Blues star; Arsenal talks for Leverkusen man

Chelsea are open to the idea of bringing back a former star amid talk of a £40m move away for a popular Blues winger, Gareth Bale is ready to make a shock decision, while Wednesday’s transfer gossip claims Arsenal are in talks for a Bayer Leverkusen man.

WILLIAN WANTS CHELSEA RETURN AMID HUDSON-ODOI EXIT TALK

Willian is plotting a return to Chelsea this summer after a miserable season at Arsenal, according to a report.

The Brazilian star left Stamford Bridge after seven highly-successful years, opting for a move to the Gunners. Willian was upset at Chelsea’s refusal to offer him more than a two-year contract extension. As a result, Arsenal offered him the three years he was craving.

However, despite a brilliant debut, the move to Emirates Stadium has backfired badly.

Now Willian is seeking an early escape from his contract – something Arsenal are willing to consider.

And according to Sky Sports, via the Daily Mirror, Willian is seeking a return to Stamford Bridge.

And fortunately for him, there could be a space opening up in their squad with Callum Hudson-Odoi linked with a move away. Indeed, it’s claimed by Eurosport that Hudson-Odoi is the man Borussia Dortmund want as a replacement for Jadon Sancho.

With Sancho told he can move on, BVB hope they can land Hudson-Odoi for around £40m this summer. The winger was once close to signing for Bayern Munich. However, he could now seal a move to the Bundesliga after all as Sancho’s replacement.

According to the reports, Chelsea are willing to sanction the move if the price is right. His sale would then be put into Thomas Tuchel’s transfer budget this summer as he looks to land a new No 9.

And with Willian arriving on a potential free, it could provide a solution to all parties.
