Predicted Leeds team to face Norwich City: More injury troubles hinder Whites ahead of six-pointer

Following a dire run of form, the predicted Leeds team to face Norwich City will see changes made yet again after another injury blow.

The Whites’ form of late has left a lot to be desired. Indeed, Jesse Marsch is yet to taste victory at his new club, who have not won a game for nearly two months.

Leeds’ string of defeats in the league has now extended to six games. Furthermore, the Elland Road outfit have shipped 21 goals during that period.

The worst results in that run were a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool, followed by a 4-0 loss against Tottenham. Last game, Leeds were handed a 3-0 defeat at home against Aston Villa, and the Whites now sit just two points above the drop zone.

Injury troubles have hindered the side for much of the season, and that will be no different for the upcoming fixture, which Marsch mentioned in his press conference.

“Would guess it [Junior Firpo’s injury] keeps him out for a while, perhaps an MCL strain,” Marsch said.

However, Leeds United have been boosted by the return of striker Patrick Bamford.

“Some dangerous moments. Confident guy. Does not suffer from fear. Going to need him and his quality within the team. Gives me optimism,” Marsch added.

Last time out – Leeds 0-3 Aston Villa

Illan Meslier played in goal and has been left brutally exposed of late. The centre-back partnership consisted of Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk.

The full-back positions were filled by Stuart Dallas and Firpo before the summer signing left the field with an injury.

Adam Forshaw and Robin Koch played in holding midfield.

Raphinha, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison were utilised in behind deputy striker Daniel James.

Predicted Leeds team against Norwich City

Meslier will likely continue in goal, though will want to stem the flow of goals of late. The back-line could see changes thanks to Firpo’s injury.

Ayling could return to his natural position at right-back, with Dallas possibly filling in at left-back. Diego Llorente could come into the side at centre-back to partner Struijk.

The holding-midfield positions could once again be filled by Forshaw and Koch.

Given Rodrigo was hooked at half-time, he may be replaced. James could drop into a deeper role, along with Harrison and Raphinha.

Bamford could return to the starting line-up for the first time since September with a greater attacking threat a must, given Leeds had just one shot against Villa.

Predicted Leeds XI: Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Struijk, Dallas; Forshaw, Koch; Raphinha, James, Harrison; Bamford
