Sheffield United express interest in Barcelona playmaker

Sheffield United are keen on pursuing the transfer of Alex Collado from Barcelona, per a report.

Collado, 22, came close to signing for the Blades in the summer. However, the deal fell through when Collado’s representative made ‘unrealistic demands’. Now, Sport Witness have reported that the club have ‘again expressed interest’ in signing the talented attacker.

Collado has not been registered to play for the Spanish giants this season.

This has left the player in a situation where it seems increasingly likely he will move away from Barcelona.

However, the Blades will not be short of company in trying to land the Spaniard’s signature.

Club Brugge, Real Betis and FC Andorra – owned by Barcelona’s Gerard Pique – are amongst other European clubs also looking into the player’s availability.

It is also believed that should a transfer occur this January window, both Collado and Barcelona have agreed it must remain on a loan basis.

Solskjaer given little chance of seeing out the season at Manchester United

Mousset hopes to repay managers faith

Lys Mousset grabbed his first goal in the Championship at the weekend as his side defeated Stoke City 2-1.

Now, the striker is hoping to build on this goal and string a number of appearances together under Slavisa Jokanovic.

Injury and personal issues kept Mousset out at the end of last season, however, he is hoping to continue improving this season.

Speaking to The Star, he said: “It was a special moment for me, my first goal in the Championship. But it needs to be the start of a run of games for me in this team.”

“Missing out through injury isn’t nice and it felt really good to be back out on the pitch with the lads. It’s very frustrating when you can’t influence games.”
