Tottenham transfer savaged with struggling star told January exit is a must

Tottenham have been called into question over their signing of Jack Clarke in 2019, as it becomes increasingly likely the 20-year-old will move on in January.

Clarke has not made the impact Spurs would have desired when they splashed out £10million to sign the winger in 2019. The former Leeds man is still yet to find his feet in North London.

The winger has made just one senior appearance in the first team this season, coming in a Europa Conference League qualifier.

Spurs’ correspondent for football.london, Alasdair Gold, has now given a scathing review of Clarke’s Tottenham career.

“Without being too blunt, Clarke’s move to Tottenham has been a complete non-starter,” he wrote.

“The winger turns 21 next month and is now in his third season as a Spurs man, yet looks no closer to becoming a first team player.”

“Now purely playing each week for the development squad, the former Leeds midfielder needs to head out in January.”

Clarke’s contract at Spurs runs out at the end of next season. As such, Tottenham could cash in for him now while he is still of value.

It is unclear what level Clarke could go to. He was subject to interest from Championship sides in the summer. As such, it seems best for him to ply his trade back in the second-tier where he may be finally be able to kickstart his career

Spurs hope of January deal

It is beginning to look increasingly unlikely that Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic will remain a Fiorentina player for much longer. Fiorentina director, Joe Barone, recently suggested they will be “very attentive” in the market over the clinical marksman.

The north London club have been linked with the Serbian for some time.

With Vlahovic looking odds on not to sign a new deal, Spurs seems one of the more viable suitors.

Although, other Premier League sides are reportedly interested, and a battle could ensue for his signature.
