West Ham decided on their asking price for 25-year-old star
West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
According to reports, Manchester City were keen on signing the Brazilian international midfielder and they have failed with a £70 million offer to sign the player.
Apparently, West Ham are prepared to sanction his departure if an offer of around £80 million is presented.
The Hammers want the fee upfront and it remains to be seen whether the midfielder’s suitors are willing to pay that kind of money for him.
Paqueta has established himself as a key player for West Ham since joining the club and his departure will weaken them severely.
The Hammers have already sanctioned a club-record departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal. They cannot hope to sell another key player in the same window without replacing them.
West Ham are yet to spend the Declan Rice money fully and they will have to strengthen their squad adequately.
The Hammers will be competing in the UEFA Europa League next season and they need a better squad in order to do well across multiple competitions.
