Wolves starlet signals desire to leave Molineux with one key problem in mind
One of Wolves’ most promising young players has revealed his intention to leave the club in the near future.
Bruno Lage has a number of excellent young talents at his disposal. French left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri was signed from Angers last year and looks destined to become a first-team regular.
Portugal wonderkid Fabio Silva is available in attack. Wolves parted with £35.6m to land the teenager from Porto in September 2020. He is yet to reach his full potential but could become Raul Jimenez’s long-term successor up front.
Wolves can benefit from their effective U21 side too. Max Kilman and Ki-Jana Hoever have both been promoted into the senior squad in recent campaigns.
18-year-old attacking midfielder Chem Campbell is looking to follow in their footsteps. But he might end up gaining experience elsewhere first.
In a recent interview with the Shropshire Star, Campbell said: “This is my third season of under-23s and I think I’m ready to go out on loan.
“The last few seasons I haven’t been nitty and gritty in challenges and that’s what loan teams want to see, they don’t just want to see you on the ball, they want to see you off the ball.
“That’s what I’m trying to do this season. Hopefully I get recognised by the gaffer and maybe get a chance, or even go on loan soon.”
His comments seem to follow up on what he said last month. Campbell revealed that he worked hard in pre-season to get noticed by lower-level teams.
The player, who can operate at central midfield if needed, is regularly capped by Wales’ youth teams. He has already registered a goal and assist in the Premier League Two division this season.
Lille wonderkid opens up on Wolves interest
Lille defender Sven Botman has confirmed Wolves were hoping to sign him this summer.
The Dutch centre-back was the subject of a bid from Lage’s side. It was knocked back as Lille were desperate to keep hold of his services.
They have placed a huge €50m price tag on his head. That is unlikely to be matched by Wolves or any other Premier League team.

During a sit down with Dutch outlet NOS, Botman said he ‘couldn’t lie’ about the Wolves links.
On the decision to remain at Lille, he added: “[It came] from the club, but I didn’t think that was a bad idea in the end. I have a starting place and play in the Champions League, so it certainly wasn’t wrong to stay.
“In football, sometimes things go quickly, but I believe that, in the end, everything will fall into place.”
